Having seen the sequel in theaters I can't wait to see it on DVD. The only problem, the sequel didn't live up to the hype of the original film. I don't know if it was because of Victor Salva's directing or the screenplay, but I didn't pick up on any excitement for this film. But...the DVD looks AWESOME! It will be great to watch this one again on DVD with some muted color scheme. I've seen Shame of Jane numerous times since it came out in 1995. It's an excellent film. If you are a Tarzan fan, you'll love "Shame of Jane". If you aren't a Tarzan fan, then this movie is just fine as well - it's just not for you. Set in the 18th century, John Clayton III, a wealthy English nobleman is captured by African tribal warriors. They bring him back to their village and hold him prisoner. In exchange for his freedom, they demand that Clayton kidnap a female from the village and bring her back to them. Realizing he has no choice but to comply with their request, Clayton chooses Jane Porter, a young European girl being held captive by the African tribe. Against his will, he must take her back with him to England where she will be sold into slavery. The rescued girl is Michael Jeter's Jane Porter, an orphan whose mother died while she was away from her family. cfa1e77820
